Tomek
a story of light in the dark
Written, directed and performed by Sebastian Palka

Premiered in Warsaw, Poland at Lisowski Galery on 14 September 2025
At times half-serious, at times painfully honest – Tomek is a raw and moving story about loneliness, longing, and the search for light even in life’s darkest tunnels. It is a deeply personal journey of resilience, identity, and the pursuit of happiness.
Tomek is an intimate encounter between story and body – a performance that blends monologue with elements of drag, music, and dance. By weaving humour and vulnerability together, it opens space for audiences to reflect, connect, and feel seen.

While it deals with adult themes, painful truths, and moments of raw honesty, it is also infused with humour, irreverence, and playfulness – including swearing, boldness, and plenty of surprises. The piece is visually dynamic, with multiple costume changes, a rich musical score, and high energy.
This is not just a play. It’s an experience. A brave, unflinching, and human story that will resonate with anyone who has ever felt out of place, silenced, or in search of belonging.
